The English Goodbye

Howdy everyone!

This is our last blog [/Sad music playing at the background/] but it was quite an experience, Didn’t it? Learning English at university is much better than at the school! I liked the methods and dynamics because it was really interactive and forced to practice different aspects to learn a new language.

The blogs were a new experience for me, I mean, in my school there were some English class that were made in the IT classroom but they were very boring (Unless you were a child because all the English exercises were games) The blogs are a fun way to exercise your English writing and write about how you feel about a certain topic. At least for me they helped me a lot, before the blogs I barely wrote a phrase in English!

I think I really need to practice more my speaking, but that’s will be so difficult because I speak badly Spanish, how am I supposed to speak fluently English if I can’t do it with my original language?!?!? The suffering is too strong. The roads of lifeee they weren’t what I expecteeed, what I believed, what I imagineeed.

In my daily life I use my English knowledge for reading articles, news, daily tips, etc. (I plan to read online books in the future) and to understand English lyrics in music, Sometimes I watch TV series without subtitles. But what I do the most is watching English videos in YouTube, I love them! I watch different types of videos like animation, comedy sketches, game critics, movie reviews, Top 10s, horror stories, etc. It is awesome.

It had a lot of fun, I can say I had a good time in English at university. Well people. It’s have been a pleasure to write to you about my silly opinion on different topics, but I must go, I will go to the next level: CHINESE! 我對模因的渴望太強烈了

再見!!!

He really neeeds an english class

Destroy FAU's system!!!!

Howdy people!

Today I’m going to talk about what changes I could make in my career, and let me tell you… WHAT WOULDN’T I CHANGE? I’m just kidding, If I didn’t like the career or the university I would have gone a long time ago. But with the new curriculum I feel like I’m a guinea pig >:^(.

Well I wouldn’t change the subjects we have to study, I think the ones we have now describe well the career in general. The only changes it comes to my mind are add a subject about anthropology or psychology for dummies (we are designing stuff for other people). What I would really change are how the teachers are organising the current subjects! There are a few I like but some subjects feel like they organised it three days before the beginning of this semester, so the teaching methods leave a lot to be desired.

And don’t let me start about the workloads and length of studies, in architecture we have to do a lot of stuff at the same time and the worst part is we have to wake up early because we have morning classes all week!! It doesn’t make any sense!!! we need to sleep so we can recover in all the tasks they are giving us, so… don’t make me wake early!

I don’t like FAU’s infrastructure, It’s very poor: the bathrooms are deteriorated, we don’t have infirmary when we really need one, our cafeteria is very small, the plotters and lasers cutters aren’t enough for all the people who needs them, we need to use our notebooks or other things for our work and there are almost no switches, etc. The few thinks I like about the infrastructure are the murals, they bring life to the blocks.

Well There are a lot of things it needs to be change, and we have to do our part too! It doesn’t make sense in just complaining and do nothing.

(I love this area)

Historian for a day

Howdy people!

This time I am going to talk about the past, because if I must choose between going to the past or the future, I’d totally pick the past because the future is supposed to be a mystery, I don’t want to know what the future will be like ahead of time, it would be like a real life huge spoiler! It would be so boring!

Honestly, I don’t know which period I would like to go back, I love history but all the “cool” history events are, how I shall say it…. They are all man-centric (except in World War I when women were the workforce) So… I think I would like to see the ancient civilizations such as the Maya or Mapuche civilization, so I could get an exact record of their culture.  It would be awesome to heard of their traditions and beliefs from their voices. I don’t know how long I would be staying, I think It would be a one-year travel, yeah… that would be enough to learn and live their way of living.

The only things I would change would be related to my own life, because I had made many mistakes that haunts me, for example, I could say to my younger self she must take advantage of the school easy routine and take a lot of art workshops or something like that. But changing something bigger, like… an important history event? I don’t think so, because If I change something bad, we could live a worse series of events, I’M NOT TAKING THAT CHANCE!!! Although It’s an excellent idea I could avoid Pinochet’s and any Latin-American dictatorship in general. Yeah! That would be awesomeee!!!!

Well I don’t have anything more to say, soo good bye!!

1000 ways to deal with the heat

Howdy Again!

Summer it’s getting closer and I can’t wait to be on vacations! I’m so excited! Imagine sleeping until late because you were staying latte watching a whole season of your favorite show and not because you had to do a project or essay.

I don’t really have a plan for this summer, I just want to be on my bed all day and watch the series everyone sees, or sleep all day! I must recover the sleep I have lost all year round.
I would like to go to the beach because I love swimming and it’s so refreshing but the only problem is I always end up burned! I apply myself sunscreen multiple times and nothing! Whenever I go to the beach I will become a tomato.

The other place I would love to go is the southern Chile, I only like summer because it’s means vacations! But for all the rest it’s stinks! The heat is unbelievable, and I sweat like crazy! But the summer can’t affect south of Chile’s cold weather. Checkmate, Summer! And let’s be honest, southern Chile is BEAU-TI-FUL.

And I would love to work in the summer but only in December, I don’t want to have to work during all my vacations, nobody has plans in December and I always have a family trip in February, so It’s perfect. I would like to be a packer.

And finally, I must do a loooot of exercise, I must lose weight for medical reasons and the university doesn’t give me the time for that (I’m very bad at organizing my time too.) But I can have that opportunity in summer!

That’ll be all, Good bye!

A studious future

Howdy Everyone!!

“What the heck I’m going to do after I get my degree?” This is the question I often asked myself. When I enrolled in this college, the sound of taking a major didn’t appeal to me (STILL doesn’t appeal to me) And I don’t know if I’m ready to get a job right after I graduated. But one day I decided I will study Illustration after I finished studying Architecture.

The reasons I want to do that is because I want to get better at drawing and know different techniques to do an illustration, but in a professional way. I would love to study a lot of artistic topics like color, human figure, painting, etc. But I like the art psychology too and I don’t know if the career would give me those kinds of subjects. Maybe I could take a major in graphic design or animation after I finish my second career.

I would like to study illustration in Chile for now, I think it would be more comfortable for me and If I take a major in design or something similar, I would love to do it in Europe. If I take a major in animation or something related with that (it can be cine too) I would do it in the USA.

Honestly, I haven’t thought about how I would like to study illustration, I think I would do it like I’m studying architecture, in “full time”. If I do it part-time course with another activity I would be very stressed and if I do “distance learning” I think I wouldn’t be very concentrated.

I must think more about this subject, I mean, the dead line is getting closer and closer! I must be prepared for the future!!!

So many Jobs, so many low salaries

Howdy people!

This time I’m going to talk about my future job... SUPER 8 SELLER!!! naah I'm just kidding. Well… this is kind a difficult subject for me, because I would love to work in the animation/comic industry, that’s like my dream job. But now, a part of me loves the architecture, so I would love to work in my own design office too.

Being an animator or an illustrator is not well seen for a lot of people and that’s a shame, I mean, they work very hard and earn a low salary for that job and the worst of all is some studies don’t give the recognition the animators deserve, but I would be very happy because I could draw and make different stories. On the other hand, owning a design office would be complicated for me, it would be a lot of responsibility! And some people have scared me I would starve because most of the time they don’t have a project or job to do. At least I could be my own boss! But If I have my office I would do it with somebody else, everything is better with a friend!

Honestly I don’t care if my job is outdoor or indoor, if I can see what’s is happening outside, I would be happy. I would love to travel in my job! But I don’t think my dreams jobs would let me do that... And I don’t mind the salary, I would be satisfied working on what I love (OMG! THAT WAS SO CHEESY!)

For now, I don’t know If I want to take a major, taking a major sounds so difficult and I want to study Illustration right after I get my degree. Maybe in the future I would want to take a major, after all it would be awesome to say “I have a major in…” Sounds very intellectual.

TV shows v/s Student life

Howdy everyone!

Today I’m going to talk TV shows. My favorite TV show is Steven Universe. Yes, I know it is a kid show but the characters are relative and their design are interesting, the animation is fantastic, the songs are very good and behind all the colors and cute characters, the show has a deep story. In the latter seasons it has a lot of tense moments. I mean, the show is about an ancient alien invasion and an alien civil war aftermath in the Earth, but the show is not as dramatic as it sounds because the main character, Steven, is a good-hearted person that tries to help everyone!

For me it is very difficult to watch a TV show because if I like the TV show I would want to know what happened at the end but the episodes normally are very long, so I would leave everything aside only to know the next events! For now, I prefer TV shows with 10-30 minutes episodes. About the genre I’m not very picky, it can be about a murder, a daily teenager’s life or about a crazy family! I don’t really care, I’m content if the TV show has an interesting story and characters.

I have a lot of series I really want to watch but the first places in my “TOP MUST WATCH” are Game of Thrones, Stranger Things and Orange Is the New Black. Everybody have recommended me these series, but I only can see this series in summer so I can watch it without worrying about my college work :^)!
